Bollinger Rose NV Champagne / Jeroboam
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV BollingerRecommended by my local wine shop
Went in looking for something big and impressive for a wedding gift and the guy behind the counter pointed me to this. Tried a glass first and was blown away — it's got this intensity that most rosé champagnes just don't have. Savoury, structured, not overly fruity. Recipient loved it too.
Serious champagne, not your usual rosé
This isn't one of those light fruity rosé champagnes that basically taste like pink lemonade. There's a real depth to it, almost savoury, and it stays with you for ages after each sip. Served it from the Jeroboam at a dinner party and everyone was impressed. Knocked half a point off just because I think you can find great champagne for less.
The Jeroboam is the way to go
Had the regular bottle before and liked it, but something about the Jeroboam format just makes it better. Really brooding and intense on the nose, proper chalky texture, and the red fruit is bang on. Great for sharing with a group — poured for about 10 of us at Christmas.
Best champagne I've ever had
My husband got this for my 40th and I'm still thinking about it weeks later. It's so smooth and complex, not sweet at all, with these lovely dark berry flavours. The finish just goes on and on. I know nothing about wine really but I know I loved this.
Absolutely knocked my socks off
Saw this on a restaurant wine list and decided to treat ourselves. Every sip revealed something new — dark fruit, something almost toasty, and a finish that just would not quit. I'm not usually a champagne person but this converted me. Now I need to find an occasion to buy the bottle for home.
Perfect with roast lamb actually
Opened this at Easter with the family and it went brilliantly with the lamb. It's got enough weight and that savoury berry character to stand up to proper food, not just canapés. The 12.5% keeps it really easy drinking even though there's a lot going on. Didn't last long between four of us!
Lovely but hard to justify the price
Look, it's good champagne. Really good. The flavour is layered and interesting and it's got a clean long finish. But £330 is a LOT of money and I've had bottles at a third of the price that got pretty close. Would I buy it again? Probably not unless someone else was paying.
Worth every penny for a special night
Bought the Jeroboam for our anniversary dinner and it was absolutely stunning. The bubbles are so fine and there's this gorgeous red berry thing going on that just kept pulling me back for another sip. At £330 it's not cheap but honestly for a big bottle of Bollinger Rosé you're getting something really special.
