Billecart-Salmon Brut Rose Champagne: Effervescent Excellence
Champagne 12% ABV ABV Billecart-SalmonPerfect for celebrations
We cracked this open on New Year's Eve and it was a hit. Beautiful salmon pink colour, tastes like strawberries and fresh pastry somehow. The finish is really dry and clean which I loved — not sweet at all. Billecart-Salmon clearly know what they're doing.
Good not great
Picked this up at Majestic for a dinner party. It's a well-made champagne — lovely fine bubbles, almondy nose, nice citrus at the end. The Pinot Noir really comes through with the red fruit. I just think there are comparable bottles out there for a tenner less.
Bit pricey for what it is
The wine shop guy recommended this and it's nice enough — peachy flavour, good fizz. But for £42 I expected to be more blown away? I've had Spanish cavas at half the price that I enjoyed just as much. Would maybe try it again on offer.
Absolutely gorgeous stuff
I don't know much about champagne but I know I loved this. It smells like a bakery and tastes like the fanciest strawberries and cream ever. Bought two more bottles the next day. Yes it's over £40 but life's short isn't it.
Really nice with food
Saw this on a restaurant menu and ordered it with salmon starters. Goes brilliantly with fish. The bubbles are incredibly smooth and there's a salty edge to it that works really well. Tracked down a bottle to have at home and wasn't disappointed.
Solid rosé champagne
Had this at a friend's dinner party and went straight out to buy a bottle. Nice biscuity smell when you pour it, and the bubbles are super fine. It's good but I'm not sure I'd pick it over a decent Prosecco for everyday drinking at that price.
The pink champagne everyone needs
Bought this for my wife's birthday and we both loved it. Really creamy bubbles with a strawberry thing going on that's just gorgeous. At £42 it's not cheap but honestly it feels like a proper treat.
