First Impressions

Billecart-Salmon Brut Rose Champagne (half bottle) arrives at £41.95, and at this price, it needs to offer genuine quality to stand out in a crowded market. 37.5cl / 12% - A perennial favourite, Billecart-Salmon Brut Rosé is an elegant combination of red-fruit and citrus flavours. A Champagne that makes an excellent aperitif, and is.

France's winemaking heritage needs no introduction, but the best producers continue to find new ways to express their terroir while honouring centuries of tradition. Billecart-Salmon is a name worth knowing in this context.

On the Nose and Palate

The nose offers fine and persistent mousse releasing aromas of brioche, toasted almond, and citrus blossom. Moving to the palate, the wine is luxurious mousse delivering ripe fruit, patisserie notes, and a long saline finish. The finish is persistent and precise, with citrus, biscuit, and a beautifully dry, mineral close.

Food Pairing and Serving

Equally at home as an aperitif or alongside seafood, sushi, or delicate canapés. Serve at 8-10°C in proper flutes or, better yet, white wine glasses to appreciate the full bouquet.

The Verdict

Billecart-Salmon Brut Rose Champagne earns a well-deserved 7 out of 10. This is a very good champagne that delivers Chardonnay with genuine conviction and craft. At £41.95, this represents excellent value for money. Whether you are building a cellar or simply looking for something excellent to drink tonight, this bottle earns its place.

We cracked this open on New Year's Eve and it was a hit. Beautiful salmon pink colour, tastes like strawberries and fresh pastry somehow. The finish is really dry and clean which I loved — not sweet at all. Billecart-Salmon clearly know what they're doing.

Picked this up at Majestic for a dinner party. It's a well-made champagne — lovely fine bubbles, almondy nose, nice citrus at the end. The Pinot Noir really comes through with the red fruit. I just think there are comparable bottles out there for a tenner less.

The wine shop guy recommended this and it's nice enough — peachy flavour, good fizz. But for £42 I expected to be more blown away? I've had Spanish cavas at half the price that I enjoyed just as much. Would maybe try it again on offer.

I don't know much about champagne but I know I loved this. It smells like a bakery and tastes like the fanciest strawberries and cream ever. Bought two more bottles the next day. Yes it's over £40 but life's short isn't it.

Saw this on a restaurant menu and ordered it with salmon starters. Goes brilliantly with fish. The bubbles are incredibly smooth and there's a salty edge to it that works really well. Tracked down a bottle to have at home and wasn't disappointed.

Had this at a friend's dinner party and went straight out to buy a bottle. Nice biscuity smell when you pour it, and the bubbles are super fine. It's good but I'm not sure I'd pick it over a decent Prosecco for everyday drinking at that price.

Bought this for my wife's birthday and we both loved it. Really creamy bubbles with a strawberry thing going on that's just gorgeous. At £42 it's not cheap but honestly it feels like a proper treat.
