Penelope Hart VIPsAllowed - Really nice but pricy
8/10

Had this at a friend's dinner party and thought it was excellent — proper balanced, nothing too sharp or too sweet. But when I looked up the price afterwards, £91 is a lot for champagne when you can get solid bottles for half that. Would I buy it again for a special occasion? Probably. For a Tuesday night? No chance.

Carlos Mendez VIPsAllowed - Solid choice for NYE
8/10

Opened this on New Year's Eve and it went down really well with everyone. Nice and clean, not too yeasty, good acidity. A couple of people commented on how smooth the finish was. I wouldn't say it's twice as good as a £45 bottle but it's definitely a step up from the usual suspects.

Marianne Blom VIPsAllowed - Best champagne I've had in ages
10/10

My wife picked this up after the guy at our local wine shop recommended it. Absolutely loved it. There's a real depth to it that you don't get with the usual big brand champagnes. Clean, crisp, and the finish just lingers beautifully. We've already ordered another bottle.

Petra Novak VIPsAllowed - Grower champagne convert
9/10

I've been getting into smaller champagne producers lately and this Suenen is a standout. Blanc de blancs from a Grand Cru village, and you can tell — there's a precision to it that the big houses just don't have. Really well structured without being heavy at 12.5%. One of those bottles where you keep noticing new things with each sip.

Jackson Wu VIPsAllowed - This stuff is dangerously drinkable
9/10

Brought this to a seafood dinner and it was perfect. Light enough that it doesn't overwhelm anything on the plate but there's genuine depth there if you pay attention. The nose is lovely too, really expressive without being over the top. Disappeared way too fast between four of us.

Erik Strom VIPsAllowed - Birthday treat that delivered
9/10

Bought this for my 40th and wow, it did not disappoint. Really elegant stuff — you can taste layers building as you drink it, not just one note. The finish keeps going and going, had me topping up my glass before I realized. At £91 it's a splurge but for a milestone birthday? Worth every penny.

Tiffany Nguyen VIPsAllowed - Good not great for the money
7/10

Saw this on a restaurant wine list and went for it. It's nice — well made, balanced, pleasant long finish. But honestly at this price point I expected to be blown away and I wasn't quite. Maybe I need to try it again outside of a noisy restaurant where I can actually pay attention to it properly.
