Vino Lauria Frappato 2023
Red 14% ABV ABV Vino LauriaInteresting Sicilian red
Tried this at a restaurant and liked it enough to track down a bottle. It's lighter than most reds I drink but there's genuine complexity here — layers of cherry and red fruit with a clean finish. Fair price for what you get.
Pleasant enough
Bought this for a dinner party and it went down fine. Bit light for my taste — I usually go for bigger reds. The cherry flavour was nice and it was easy drinking but I wouldn't pay this much again when there are bolder options out there.
Solid weeknight wine
Saw this recommended online and gave it a go. Nice red fruit flavours, good acidity that keeps it lively. Not life-changing but genuinely enjoyable and I finished the bottle quicker than I meant to. Goes brilliantly with pizza.
Nice but not cheap
Good wine, proper nice strawberry and cherry thing going on. Felt like there was more going on than I expected from a lighter red. At nearly £19 though I'd probably save it for when I want something a bit special rather than a Tuesday night.
Frappato convert
Never had Frappato before and honestly didn't know what to expect. This is really impressive — loads of sour cherry and wild strawberry, and it's got way more depth than I thought a wine like this would have. Smooth finish too. Great find.
Summer BBQ winner
Bought a couple of bottles for a BBQ and everyone kept asking what it was. It's got that sour cherry and strawberry thing but it's not simple at all, there's proper structure to it. Smooth as anything on the finish. Already ordered more.
Such a fun red
Picked this up after the guy at my local wine shop recommended it. Really lovely cherry flavours and it's got this freshness that makes it so easy to drink. Had it with a big bowl of pasta and it was perfect. Will definitely buy again.
Birthday treat that delivered
My partner got me this for my birthday and I absolutely loved it. The strawberry notes hit you straight away and it's got this herbal edge that keeps things interesting. Really well balanced and dangerously drinkable for 14%. One of my favourite reds this year.
