Vincent Bliard Eternel Optimist Blanc de Blancs NV Champagne
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV Vincent BliardNice but bit steep
Got this as a birthday present and it was enjoyable enough. Good fizz, nice acidity, goes down easy. But I'm not sure I'd spend £55 of my own money on it when you can get decent crémant for half that. It is tasty though, I'll give it that.
Lovely blanc de blancs
The guy at my local wine shop recommended this when I said I wanted something a bit different from the big champagne houses. It's got a really clean, precise character to it — not trying to be anything it's not. Light enough at 12.5% that I didn't feel rough the next day either. Would definitely buy again.
Punching above its weight
I've been slowly trying more grower champagnes and this Vincent Bliard is a standout. There's genuine depth here that builds as you drink it — second and third glass were even better than the first. The finish is clean and just makes you want another sip. Brilliant stuff at this price point for a grower champagne.
Great dinner party champagne
Served this at a dinner party and got loads of compliments. It's got a really fresh, bright quality that works well as an aperitif but also held up through the starter. One friend who knows way more about wine than me said something about it being well-made and not hiding behind sugar, which I'll take as a win.
Proper treat for New Year's
Bought this for New Year's Eve instead of the usual Moët and honestly glad I did. Really crisp and fresh, not too sweet like some champagnes can be. The bubbles are fine and it just kept getting better as we worked through the bottle. At £55 it's not cheap but it felt worth it for a special occasion.
Solid choice
Saw this on a restaurant wine list and decided to try something new. It's a perfectly good champagne — nice bubbles, crisp and dry, pleasant enough finish. I just didn't get the wow factor I was hoping for at that price. Would pair well with fish and chips on a sunny afternoon though, not gonna lie.
