Vina Progresso Revolution Tannat 2023
Red 14% ABV ABV Vina ProgressoGreat find for under £20
Picked this up from a local wine shop after the guy behind the counter recommended it. Really bold dark fruit flavours and proper grippy tannins — this is a serious red but not heavy or boozy at all. Had it with a slow-cooked beef stew and it was perfect. Will definitely buy again.
Bit much for me
I normally go for lighter reds so this was a lot. The tannins are pretty intense and it's 14% which I could sort of feel by the end of the glass. That said the fruit is nice and it's well made, just not really my style. My partner loved it though so maybe I'm the problem here.
Solid everyday red
Bought a couple of bottles for a dinner party and everyone seemed to enjoy it. Nice dark berry nose, quite punchy. The tannins are firm so I'd say decant it for a bit or have it with food. At £18 it's fair enough, nothing mind-blowing but a reliable choice.
Tannat is underrated
I've been getting into Uruguayan Tannat lately and this one's a winner. Really confident nose, loads of dark fruit, and the finish just goes on and on without being harsh. £18.25 is decent for this quality honestly. Had it with a homemade burger night and it stood up brilliantly.
