Veuve Clicquot Rose Champagne / Gift Box
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV Veuve ClicquotBirthday treat that delivered
Got this as a birthday present to myself and honestly no regrets. The bubbles are so fine and delicate, and there's this lovely strawberry thing going on that just makes it feel properly special. At £65 it's not an everyday buy but for a celebration? Absolutely worth it.
Stole the show at our dinner party
Brought this to a friend's dinner party and everyone kept asking about it. It's got proper depth to it, like each sip you notice something different. The finish is clean and makes you want to keep going back for more. Dangerous at 12.5% because it goes down way too easy.
First proper champagne and I get the hype
I'm normally a beer person but tried this at a wedding and had to track it down. There's a biscuity quality to it that I wasn't expecting and the red fruit flavours are really nice without being sweet. Starting to understand why people spend proper money on champagne now.
The dried strawberry note is real
Saw a few people mention strawberry in reviews so I was skeptical but yeah, you genuinely get this dried strawberry thing on the nose. Crisp and well balanced with a citrusy edge that stops it being too sweet. Had it with some charcuterie and it was a perfect match.
Our go-to for date night
My partner and I cracked this open for our anniversary dinner. Really nice red berry flavours and it stays interesting right through the glass — not one of those champagnes where the first sip is the best bit. The gift box is a nice touch too, makes it feel like an event.
Good but is it £65 good?
Look, it's a solid rosé champagne. Nice biscuity smell when you pour it, tastes of red fruits, bubbles are lovely and fine. But at £65.50 I keep thinking I could get two really good bottles of prosecco or cava for that. Would buy again if someone else is paying though.
Decent rosé champagne, expected more wow
The wine shop guy recommended this when I said I wanted a nice rosé champagne. It's perfectly good — red berries, nice acidity, fine bubbles. Just didn't blow me away for the price point. Maybe I'd built it up too much in my head. The gift box presentation is lovely though.
