Veuve Clicquot Rich Doux Champagne
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV Veuve ClicquotPerfect for mixing cocktails on a sunny afternoon
Bought this for a garden party and it was a massive hit. We mixed it with fresh fruit and ice like the label suggests and honestly it was incredible — sweet but not sickly, with a real fizz to it. At sixty quid it's not cheap but everyone was asking what it was, so worth it for the wow factor.
Decent, not sure about the price tag though
Saw this on a restaurant menu and thought I'd try the Veuve Clicquot Rich since I've had the regular yellow label loads of times. It's well made and smooth with a satisfying finish, but at this price point I expected to be completely blown away and I wasn't quite. Still solid champagne though.
Nice but bit pricey for what it is
Had this at a friend's house and it's good, don't get me wrong. Lovely nose, clean finish, all that. But over £60 for a sweet champagne feels steep when you can get a solid Prosecco for a third of the price. Would I buy it again? Maybe for a special occasion.
Surprisingly complex for a sweet champagne
I'm usually a brut drinker but my wife picked this up and I was genuinely impressed. There's proper acidity holding it together so it doesn't taste like sugary fizz. You can actually sit with it and notice different things across a few sips. Really well made.
Great with dessert
The guy at the wine shop recommended this to go with a fruit tart I was making and he was spot on. Sweet enough to match the dessert but it's got a backbone to it so it doesn't just disappear. The finish is clean and lingers nicely. Will definitely get again for dinner parties.
Birthday treat that delivered
Got this as a birthday present to myself and no regrets. It smells amazing straight out of the bottle — really aromatic and inviting. The sweetness is balanced, not like drinking liquid sugar. Finished the bottle way too quickly which is probably the best review I can give it.
