Tidebrook Staddle Stone Chardonnay 2023
White 12% ABV ABV TidebrookGreat dinner party wine
Bought this for a dinner party and got loads of compliments. It's got this really clear, fresh nose that hits you straight away and the lighter alcohol means nobody got too fuzzy before dessert. Went brilliantly with the fish pie.
Perfect summer evening wine
Had this on a warm evening in the garden and it was absolutely spot on. Bright acidity, lovely clean finish, and it stayed interesting right to the bottom of the bottle. Would definitely buy again for when the weather picks up.
Really impressed with this
Picked this up from our local wine shop after the guy behind the counter recommended it. Really fresh and crisp with a lovely acidity that kept me going back for more. At £34.50 it's not an everyday bottle but it's genuinely good chardonnay — nothing like the heavy oaky stuff I usually avoid.
English chardonnay that actually delivers
I've been trying more English wines lately and this is one of the best whites I've had. Properly structured with real complexity — you notice new things the longer it sits in the glass. The 12% ABV keeps it really precise and drinkable. Tidebrook are doing something right.
Not really for me
My wife bought this for my birthday and it was fine but I think I just prefer something with a bit more punch. It's quite subtle and light at 12% — well made I'm sure, just not my style. She loved it though so maybe I'm the problem.
Solid chardonnay
Saw this on a restaurant menu and liked it enough to track down a bottle for home. It's restrained and elegant rather than big and fruity, which I appreciate. The finish is clean and makes you want another sip. Good stuff.
Nice but a bit steep
It's a decent white, clean and well-made with some nice depth to it. But honestly for £34.50 I expected a bit more wow factor. I'd buy it again if it was on offer but probably wouldn't pay full price.
