Picked this up after seeing the 2020 vintage recommended somewhere. It's good — dark cherry, nice structure, proper mineral finish. But the tannins felt a bit tight still. Might be one to stick in the cupboard for a year or two if you can wait.

Asked for something special for a dinner party and was pointed to this. Everyone loved it. Goes brilliantly with lamb — that dark cherry and earthy thing it does is perfect with roasted meat. Clean finish too, no roughness at all.

Opened this with my partner over steak and it was lovely. Really expressive on the nose, cherry and something floral that's quite pretty. Smooth and fresh with a finish that just goes on and on. Not an everyday wine at that price but great for when you want to make an effort.

Had this at a restaurant and liked it enough to track down a bottle. Really expressive cherry fruit with a savoury edge that builds as you drink it. £64 isn't cheap but for Gevrey-Chambertin it's actually pretty reasonable. Would buy again.

Olivia Park VIPsAllowed - Good but expected more at this price
7/10

Nice wine, don't get me wrong — dark fruit, earthy, long finish. But at £64.50 I was hoping for a bit more wow factor. It's well made and everything works together, just didn't blow me away like I thought it would.

Priya Sharma VIPsAllowed - This is what Burgundy should taste like
9/10

I've been trying to get into Burgundy and this is the bottle that made it click for me. There's a complexity here that I kept noticing new things in — fruit, then earth, then something almost savoury. At 14% it's got weight but doesn't feel heavy. Genuinely impressive.

Bought this for my 40th and it was genuinely special. Dark cherry and something earthy that made it feel really grown-up. The tannins are firm but smooth, and it just kept getting better as the bottle opened up. Worth every penny for an occasion.
