The Hilt Estate Pinot Noir 2021
Red 14% ABV ABV The HiltNice wine, nothing mind-blowing
Picked this up after reading some good things online. It's a well-made Pinot for sure — pleasant finish, good fruit, nicely put together. I just expected a bit more wow factor at this price point. Would happily drink it again if someone else was buying though.
Good but bit steep
Had this at a friend's house and enjoyed it — lovely nose on it once it opened up a bit, and the finish is clean and lingering. That said, I think you can get similar quality Pinot for £40ish. It's good, just not sure it justifies the premium.
Solid Pinot Noir
The wine shop guy recommended this when I said I wanted something a step up from my usual. Really nice balance to it, the fruit is rich but there's enough acidity to keep it interesting. Finished the bottle faster than I expected, which says something.
Really impressed with this one
Bought this for my wife's birthday dinner and we both loved it. There's so much going on — layers of fruit that just keep coming, and it's smooth without being boring. At £56 it's not an everyday bottle but it felt worth it for a special occasion.
Best Pinot I've had in ages
Saw this on a restaurant wine list and took a chance. So glad I did. It's got real depth to it — not just simple berry flavours but proper complexity that builds as you drink. Tracked down a bottle to have at home and it's just as good.
Goes down dangerously easy for 14%
You'd never guess this is 14% ABV. It just tastes like ripe, concentrated fruit without any of that boozy warmth you sometimes get. Had it with a slow-cooked lamb shoulder and it was perfect. Will definitely buy again.
