Taylor's Coronation Very Very Old Tawny Port
Fortified 20% ABV ABV Taylor'sDangerously smooth for 20%
Tried this at a port tasting event and honestly couldn't believe it was 20% ABV. There's zero burn, just this warm glow that sits perfectly with the fruit and acidity. The finish lasted longer than any port I've ever had. If I ever win the lottery this is going straight into the regular rotation.
Incredible but hard to justify the price
My wife surprised me with this for our anniversary. It's genuinely beautiful — layers and layers of flavour, and the nose alone is worth sitting with for a while. But I'll be honest, at over four hundred quid I kept thinking about how many really good £30 ports that buys. Still, a special experience for a special occasion.
The real deal
The guy at the wine shop talked me into splashing out on this instead of a Late Bottled Vintage and I'm glad he did. You can taste the age in it — everything is just so balanced and smooth. Poured some for friends after dinner and nobody said a word for about ten seconds, which says it all really.
Worth every single penny
Got this as a retirement gift for my dad and we opened it together. The complexity is insane — every sip you notice something different, and it just keeps going and going on the finish. At £428 it's obviously not an everyday buy but for a once-in-a-lifetime bottle? Absolutely no regrets.
