Taylor's 2007 Vintage Port
Fortified 20% ABV ABV Taylor'sGood but expected more for the money
Nice port, don't get me wrong. Smooth, well-balanced, and the fruit flavours are lovely. But at nearly £84 a bottle I was expecting it to completely blow me away and it didn't quite get there. Would probably buy a younger Taylor's instead and save the difference.
Perfect after-dinner sipper
Got this as a birthday present and it's gorgeous. Really layered — every time I went back to my glass it tasted slightly different as it opened up. Had it with some stilton and it was just perfect. Already planning to buy another bottle to put away for a few more years.
Best port I've ever had
The wine shop guy recommended this when I said I wanted something really good for Christmas. Honestly blown away. It's got this incredible depth to it and the sweetness is perfectly balanced with a sharpness that keeps it interesting. Could sip this all night.
Taylor's nailed it with this one
I'm not a massive port drinker but picked this up after seeing it on a restaurant menu and loving it. Really clean finish that doesn't leave you feeling like you've just eaten a bag of sugar. The 20% ABV sneaks up on you though — dangerously easy to drink for something that strong!
Really solid but pricey
Had this at a friend's house and really enjoyed it so tracked down a bottle myself. It's proper grown-up port — none of that cheap sticky sweetness. Bit hard to justify £84 though when there are decent vintage ports for half the price. That said, it is noticeably a step up.
Special occasion wine
Bought this for my dad's 60th and we cracked it open after dinner. Absolutely stunning — rich and complex but not syrupy sweet like some ports I've had. At £84 it's not cheap but for a big birthday it felt worth every penny. We kept finding new flavours as the evening went on.
