Taylor's 10 Year Old Tawny Port: A Sip of History
Fortified 20% ABV ABV Taylor'sPerfect after-dinner sipper
Bought this for Christmas dinner and it was the star of the evening. The caramel and nutty flavours are gorgeous, and it's sweet without being sickly. Everyone kept going back for more, even my dad who normally only drinks beer.
Good but expected more
Had this at a friend's house and thought it was decent. Nice caramel and fig notes but honestly at 20% ABV I was expecting something with a bit more punch. It's smooth though, I'll give it that. Might wait for a deal before buying my own bottle.
Solid port for the money
The wine shop guy recommended this when I said I wanted something for cheese night. It's really nice — loads of dried fruit and a warming finish that sticks around. At nearly £29 it's not cheap for a weeknight but it's a treat.
Birthday present win
Got this as a birthday gift and I'm obsessed. The dried apricot and toasted almond combo is unreal, and the finish goes on forever. I've been having a small glass with dark chocolate after dinner most nights. Taylor's clearly know what they're doing.
Great with a cheese board
Picked this up for a dinner party and paired it with stilton and walnuts — honestly perfect match. It's got this lovely orange peel thing going on underneath all the sweetness. Not something I'd drink every day at that price but definitely one for special occasions.
