Marco Andretti VIPsAllowed - Nice but is it £57 nice?
7/10

Had this at a friend's dinner party and it was good, don't get me wrong. Clean, well balanced, proper champagne taste. But I've had Cremants at half the price that I've enjoyed just as much. Maybe I'm just not fancy enough to tell the difference.

I usually grab the regular Taittinger but the guy at Majestic talked me into trying the Prelude. Definitely more going on — the fruit is richer and it's got this lovely lingering finish that keeps you sipping. Would buy again but probably keeping it for when we have people round.

We cracked this open on NYE with a big cheese spread and it was bang on. Really crisp acidity that cuts through rich food. My partner who normally drinks prosecco said this was on another level. The nose is gorgeous too, you can actually smell it properly which I liked.

Bought this for my wife's 40th and we were both really impressed. Proper crisp and elegant without being boring — there's actual depth to it, not just bubbles and acid. At £57.50 it's not cheap but for a special occasion champagne from Taittinger it felt worth every penny.

Devon Marsh VIPsAllowed - This is what champagne should taste like
9/10

I'm slowly trying to learn more about wine and someone on Reddit recommended Taittinger Prelude as a good intro to Grand Cru champagne. They were right. It's complex without being confusing — balanced fruit, lovely bubbles, and a finish that just keeps going. Already planning to buy another bottle.

Luciano Bianchi VIPsAllowed - Decent but not mind-blowing

Saw this on the wine list at a restaurant and thought I'd try it. It's elegant and well made, no complaints there. Good acidity, clean finish, does what it says on the tin. Just didn't blow my socks off for the price point. I'd probably reach for Pol Roger or Billecart next time around.
