Taittinger Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs 2013 / Gift Box
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV TaittingerReally good but hard to justify the price
Tried this at a friend's house and it's genuinely lovely — proper depth and complexity that builds as you drink it. Never feels heavy at 12.5% which is nice. But £165 is a LOT for champagne when you can get solid stuff for half that. Would I buy it again? Maybe for a big occasion.
The gift box is a nice touch
Got recommended this by the guy at my local wine shop when I said I needed something impressive for my parents' ruby wedding. It went down so well — my dad kept going back to his glass saying he could smell something new each time. Clean finish that lingers without being overpowering. Everyone asked where I got it.
Worth every penny for a special night
Bought this for our anniversary and wow. The bubbles are so fine and elegant, and there's this lovely clarity to the nose — you can actually pick out different things each time you sniff. At £165 it's not an everyday buy obviously, but for a celebration it's absolutely perfect. We had it with some seafood and it was incredible.
Best champagne I've ever had
My wife got me this in the gift box for my 40th and I'm still thinking about it weeks later. The acidity keeps everything so fresh and lively, and the finish just goes on and on. I've had Moët and Veuve plenty of times but this is a completely different level. If you can stretch to it, do it.
