Tomas Rivera VIPsAllowed - Expected more for the price
6/10

Bought this for a dinner party and it was fine but didn't blow anyone away. It's clean and fresh with decent depth, but at this price point I wanted something a bit more memorable. My mate preferred the £12 bottle we opened first, which tells you something.

Natalie Ford VIPsAllowed - Best Alvarinho I've had
9/10

Saw this on a restaurant menu and ordered a glass out of curiosity. Ended up tracking down a bottle to buy. The aromatics are incredible — really expressive and confident. Everything about it feels balanced and considered. Yes it's nearly thirty quid but honestly it's worth it.

Kenji Watanabe VIPsAllowed - Solid wine, bit steep though
7/10

Nice enough wine but nearly £29 feels a bit much. It's well balanced and the flavours build nicely as you drink it, but I've had similar quality for less. That said, the finish lingers in a really pleasant way so maybe I'm being harsh.

Had this with grilled sea bass and it was a perfect match. Bright acidity cuts right through the richness. It's got genuine depth without being heavy, which I appreciate. The 14% ABV surprised me because it drinks way lighter than that.

What I liked about this is it doesn't hit you with everything at once. Give it a few minutes after pouring and it really opens up. Each sip seems to have something new going on. Shared it with my partner over a roast chicken and we were both fans. Clean finish too, no weird aftertaste.

8/10

Picked this up after the guy at my local wine shop recommended it. Really aromatic when you pour it, loads of character in the nose. The acidity keeps it really fresh despite the 14% — I honestly couldn't tell it was that strong. Would definitely buy again.

I don't usually spend this much on wine but fancied something different. It's really well put together — the fruit is balanced, the acidity keeps things lively, and the finish sticks around in a good way. Not sure I'd buy it every week at £29 but nice for a Friday night.

Sara Lindstrom VIPsAllowed - Birthday treat that delivered
8/10

Got this as a birthday present to myself and really glad I did. There's a real precision to it — you can smell it from across the table and it just draws you in. The layers of fruit that come through as you drink are genuinely interesting. Felt like a proper treat.
