Smalltown Vineyards The Good Luck Club Cabernet Sauvignon 2022
White 12% ABV ABV Smalltown VineyardsSolid midweek white
Nice enough wine. Not flashy but it does the job well. Good balance and it stayed interesting through the whole bottle which is more than I can say for a lot of whites at this price. Had it with a roast chicken and it worked perfectly.
Birthday present winner
My partner got me this for my birthday and wow, it's genuinely interesting. There's proper depth to it — not just another generic white. The aromatics are lovely if you give it a minute in the glass. Already ordered another bottle.
Pleasantly surprised
Saw this on a restaurant menu and thought why not. I'm not usually adventurous with wine but this was really easy to drink while still being interesting. Not too sweet which I appreciated. The kind of thing that makes you want another glass before you've finished the first.
Nice but a bit pricey for what it is
Look it's a perfectly fine wine and the acidity is spot on, keeps everything lively. But £19.95 is pushing it for me when there are so many good whites around the £12-15 mark. I wouldn't turn it down but I probably wouldn't repurchase.
Expected more from a Cab Sauv white
It's decent but at nearly £20 I thought it'd blow me away a bit more. The finish is clean and pleasant enough but I've had £12 bottles that excited me more. Maybe I just need to try it with food next time instead of drinking it on its own.
Really impressed for the price
Picked this up on a whim from our local wine shop and genuinely surprised how good it is. There's a real weight to it that you don't usually get in whites under twenty quid. The acidity keeps it fresh and I kept going back for more. Would definitely buy again.
Best sub-£20 white I've had in ages
The wine shop guy recommended this and I'm so glad he did. It's got this beautiful clarity on the nose and real structure that you just don't expect at this price. Seriously, if you see it, grab it. I'm stocking up.
Great dinner party pick
Brought this to a friend's dinner party and everyone commented on it. It's got enough going on to be a talking point but it's not weird or challenging. The freshness really cuts through richer food. Good all-rounder.
