Saint Clair ‘Origin’ Rose 2024
Rosé 12% ABV ABV Saint ClairBit pricey for what it is
Saint Clair usually do good stuff but this one didn't quite hit the mark for me at £14.25. It's perfectly drinkable and the finish is nice and clean, but I kept thinking I'd rather have spent the money on one of their sauvignon blancs instead. Not bad though.
Decent midweek bottle
Saw this on a menu at a restaurant and liked it enough to track down a bottle for home. Nice acidity, goes well with lighter food — had it with some salmon and it worked nicely. Wouldn't say it blew me away but it's solid.
Great for the calories conscious
Only 12% which is what drew me to it — trying to cut back a bit! But it doesn't taste watery or thin like some lower ABV wines do. Actually has decent depth to it. The finish is really clean too, no weird aftertaste. Happy with this one.
Really nice summer wine
Picked this up for a barbecue last weekend and it went down a treat. Really fresh and easy to drink, not too sweet which is what I usually worry about with rosés. At £14 it's not the cheapest but you can taste the quality. Would definitely buy again.
Fine but nothing special
It's alright. Clean and pleasant enough but for over £14 I expected a bit more going on. I've had rosés at £8-9 that I've enjoyed just as much honestly. Not bad, just not sure it's worth the extra.
Good rosé, fair price
The wine shop guy recommended this when I said I wanted something dry and fruity for a dinner party. It delivered on both counts. Nice aromatic nose when you pour it, got a few compliments from guests. Not life-changing but a reliable pick.
Loved this!
I don't usually go for rosé but my partner picked this up and I was genuinely impressed. Really expressive smell straight out of the bottle and the taste has more complexity than I expected. Light but not boring. This has converted me a bit to be honest.
