Mei-Lin Wu VIPsAllowed - Not really my thing
5/10

Bit too rich and intense for me if I'm honest. I tend to prefer lighter reds and this felt like a lot going on. My partner loved it though so maybe it's just personal taste. The cherry flavours were nice at least.

My sister got me this for my birthday and I'm so glad she did. Absolutely gorgeous — all dark fruit and a bit of spice, and it carries the 14% really well, doesn't taste boozy at all. S.C. Pannell clearly know what they're doing. Already looking up their other wines.

Had this at a friend's dinner party and went out and bought a bottle the next day. Nice peppery kick to it and the chocolate notes are subtle but definitely there. Not life-changing but I'd happily drink it again.

The guy in the wine shop suggested this when I said I wanted something full-bodied but not too tannic. He was spot on — it's got proper grip but nothing harsh. The peppery finish is really nice with a chilli con carne.

Bought two bottles for a Sunday roast with the family and they went down brilliantly. Really rich and juicy, loads of berry fruit, and that liquorice thing in the background is lovely. The grenache-shiraz blend just works. Will definitely be getting more.

Picked this up from my local wine shop on a whim and genuinely glad I did. The dark fruit flavours are lovely — proper plummy and rich without being heavy. At twenty quid it's a solid buy for a Friday night steak.

Farah Abboud VIPsAllowed - Decent but not sure about the price

It's fine, don't get me wrong — nice dark cherry flavours and smooth enough. But for nearly £20 I expected a bit more excitement. I've had Australian reds at £12 that gave me more to think about.
