Ruinart Rose Champagne
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV RuinartDinner party showstopper
Brought this to a friend's dinner party and everyone wanted to know what it was. Really expressive on the nose, you get those red fruits straight away with a hint of something bready underneath. Went down a treat with the salmon starter too.
Good but I expected more
Maybe my expectations were too high given the price tag. It's pleasant enough with nice berry flavours and a clean finish, but at 12.5% and nearly a hundred quid I wanted to be blown away. It's good, just not sure it's THAT good.
Converted me to rosé champagne
I always thought rosé champagne was a bit of a gimmick until I tried this. There's proper complexity here — red berries, a bit of citrus peel, and this mineral quality on the finish that I really liked. Now I get what all the fuss is about.
Really nice but is it £94 nice?
Look, this is a very good champagne. Lovely red fruits, nice fizz, clean finish. But I keep coming back to the price — you can get solid rosé champagne for £40-50 less. I'd buy it again for a special occasion but not as a regular thing.
Best rosé champagne I've had
My wife and I tried this at a restaurant in Paris last year and immediately ordered a bottle when we got home. The pomegranate and red fruit notes are incredible and it stays interesting from first sip to last. It's pricey but Ruinart know what they're doing.
Christmas morning tradition now
Saw this on a menu at a fancy place last Christmas and fell in love. We've now had it two Christmases running and it's become our thing. The pomegranate notes are so festive and the bubbles are super fine. Yes it's expensive but some things are worth it.
Birthday treat that delivered
Got this for my 40th and wow, it really felt special. The red berry flavours are gorgeous and it's got this lovely brioche thing going on underneath. At nearly £94 it's not an everyday buy but for a milestone birthday? Absolutely worth it.
Solid champagne, lovely bottle
The wine shop guy recommended this when I said I wanted something a bit special for our anniversary. It's really well balanced — fruity but not sweet, with a nice crisp acidity that keeps you going back for more. The bottle looks great on the table as well.
