Roland Champion Secret d'Aramis NV Champagne
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV Roland ChampionGenuinely surprised by this one
I'm not usually a champagne person but this changed my mind a bit. There's real structure to it and the flavours sort of unfold the more you drink, rather than just hitting you with one note. The acidity keeps everything fresh without being sharp. Already ordered another bottle for Easter.
Decent champagne, nothing wild
Picked this up for New Year's after seeing it recommended online. It's nice — clean, balanced, doesn't try too hard. Good length on the finish which I appreciated. I just wasn't blown away for the money, there are NV champagnes around the £30 mark that get pretty close to this. Still enjoyed it though.
Great recommendation from the wine shop
The guy at my local suggested this when I said I wanted something a bit different from the usual supermarket fizz. Really glad I listened — it's got a focused, precise character that feels a cut above. Went perfectly with some smoked salmon starters we did on Saturday night.
Birthday treat that delivered
Bought this for my wife's 40th and we were both really impressed. It's got proper depth to it, not just fizz and nothing else like a lot of champagnes at this price. The bubbles are fine and persistent and there's this lovely layered quality that keeps you coming back for another sip. Would definitely buy again for a special occasion.
Nice but a stretch at £40
Had this at a friend's dinner party and thought it was solid. Clean finish, good acidity, and it didn't taste sweet or cheap at all. But at £40 I'd probably reach for a Crémant most nights — you're paying a premium for the Champagne name here. That said, it's well made and I wouldn't turn down another glass.
