Rinaldi Dolcetto d'Alba Roussot 2024: Rich Complexity in Every Glass
Red 13% ABV ABV RinaldiNice enough, does the job
Saw this recommended online and gave it a go. It's a solid red — dark berries, bit of herb and spice, nothing offensive. Goes well with pasta and cheese. Not sure it's worth over twenty quid every time but I wouldn't turn it down if someone opened one.
Solid Italian red
Had this at a friend's place and liked it enough to track down a bottle myself. It's got a proper weight to it and the tannins are smooth, not that dry grippy thing I hate. The bramble and spice thing on the finish is lovely. Decent midweek treat.
Good but not amazing
The wine shop guy recommended this as something different from the usual Malbec and it's alright. Nice enough dark fruit and some herby notes but honestly for £22.50 I expected a bit more wow factor. Would probably try a different Dolcetto next time to compare.
Really nice with a steak dinner
Picked this up for a birthday dinner and it went down a treat. Loads of dark berry flavour and a bit of spice that worked brilliantly with the ribeye. At £22.50 I'd say it's fair for what you get — I've had worse for more.
New favourite grape variety
I'd never tried Dolcetto before and now I'm kicking myself. This is rich and full without being heavy, and there's this interesting sort of graphite or mineral edge underneath the fruit that keeps it interesting. Smashed it with a homemade pizza night. Will be buying again.
