Riffel Binger Scharlachberg Riesling Kabinett 2022: Clean Lines, Complex Finish
White 8% ABV ABV RiffelPerfect with fish and chips honestly
Bought this for a dinner party and it went down really well. Super refreshing, crisp apple and citrus vibes, and that low ABV means everyone was still standing by dessert. My mate who normally only drinks red even said he liked it.
Fine but not sure about the price
It's a decent enough Riesling, nice lemony freshness and all that, but £16.75 feels a bit steep for what you're getting. I've had German Kabinetts at half the price that I enjoyed just as much. The finish is actually pretty good though, sort of chalky and clean.
Solid weeknight white
Saw this recommended somewhere online and thought I'd give it a go. It's nice — there's a honey sweetness thing going on that I wasn't expecting from a Riesling, but it stays fresh enough. Not mind-blowing but I finished the bottle so that says something.
Really nice summer wine
Picked this up after the guy in the wine shop said it was great for lighter drinking. He wasn't wrong — it's got this lovely peachy sweetness but doesn't feel heavy at all. Only 8% too so you can have a couple of glasses without writing off the evening. Would definitely buy again.
This one surprised me
Not gonna lie I mainly drink reds but my partner ordered this at a restaurant and I kept stealing sips. The peach and lemon flavours are really clean and it has this mineral-y dry finish that goes on forever. At 8% ABV it's dangerously easy to drink. Already tracked down a bottle for home.
