Reservas Especiales Fino Marismeno Sherry / Romate
Fortified 20% ABV ABV RomateReliable and interesting
Second bottle of this I've bought now. It's just a really well put together Fino — fruity but dry, warm but not boozy, and the finish lingers in a good way. Not the most exciting sherry I've ever had but consistently enjoyable. Good one to have in the rotation.
Solid sherry, good value
Decent Fino that does what it says on the tin. Clean and balanced, not too heavy despite 20% ABV. I had it chilled with some almonds and olives and it was perfect. Would buy again but wouldn't necessarily rush out for it.
Great weekend discovery
Tried this at a friend's house over the weekend. Really clean tasting with good depth — none of that harsh alcohol burn you sometimes get with fortified wines. Nice long finish too. Going to grab a bottle for myself.
Where has this been all my life
I saw this on a restaurant menu and ordered a glass on a whim. Went straight out and bought a bottle the next day. It's got this lovely nutty, savoury quality and drinks way smoother than you'd expect at 20%. Absolutely brilliant with tapas.
Really impressed with this
Picked this up after the guy at my local wine shop recommended it. I don't usually go for sherry but this changed my mind — it's dry and complex without being hard work. The finish just keeps going. At £23 it feels like a steal for something this interesting.
Perfect with cheese night
Got this as a birthday present from someone who knows I've been getting into sherry lately. It's really expressive — you can smell it as soon as you pour it. Served it cold alongside a big cheese board and it was the star of the evening. Really balanced and moreish.
Bit pricey for sherry
It's fine, genuinely well made and all that. But £23 for a Fino? I can get perfectly good sherry for less. The finish is nice and it handles the high ABV well, I'll give it that. Just not sure it justifies the price tag for me.
Not bad but not my thing
Bought this for a dinner party because a friend said I should try more sherry. It's well-made and I can see why people like it, but the dry yeasty thing isn't really for me. My partner loved it though, so not a waste of money.
