Regi Extra Brut Champagne
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV RegiDinner party winner
Brought this to a dinner party and it went down an absolute storm. Everyone kept saying how good it was, even the people who normally just drink prosecco. Really expressive on the nose — you get a proper hit of something interesting before you even take a sip. The extra brut style meant it worked brilliantly with the starters too.
Converted me from prosecco
I'm usually a prosecco drinker because champagne always seemed overpriced to me. A friend poured me a glass of this at hers and I get it now. It's so much more complex and the finish just keeps going. Saving up to buy my own bottle, 12.5% ABV means it doesn't knock you sideways either which is a bonus.
Proper champagne, not just fizz
Picked this up after the guy in the wine shop said it was one of the best things they had in stock. He wasn't wrong. There's a lot going on flavour-wise and it stays interesting right to the bottom of the glass. The dry style really lets you taste everything properly.
Good but steep for the price
Look, it's a nice champagne. Really clean, lovely bubbles, and the finish goes on for ages. But at £79 I kept comparing it to other champagnes I've had at £50-60 and I'm not sure the gap is as big as the price suggests. Would I buy it again? Maybe for a special occasion.
Birthday treat that delivered
My wife got me this for my 40th and wow, it's the real deal. The bubbles are super fine and it's bone dry without being harsh — you can really taste everything going on. At nearly £80 it's not an everyday thing but for a special occasion it absolutely nailed it.
So smooth and easy to drink
Had this at New Year's and it was dangerously drinkable. Really smooth with no harsh edges at all, and the dryness makes it so refreshing. The bubbles are tiny and delicate which I loved. Would happily crack another bottle open for any celebration.
Decent but I expected more
Saw this on a restaurant menu and thought I'd splash out. It's good — dry, clean, nice fine bubbles — but at this price point I was hoping to be blown away and I wasn't quite. Solid champagne, just not sure it justifies the premium over something like a good Moët.
