Regi Brut Grand Cru NV Champagne
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV RegiDecent but expected more from Grand Cru
Saw Grand Cru on the label and got my hopes up maybe a bit too much. It's a nice drink for sure, clean finish and everything, but I wasn't blown away. Maybe I need to try it with food next time instead of just on its own. Fine bubbles though, looked lovely in the glass.
This is properly good
I've been slowly working my way through different champagnes this year and this one stands out. There's a restrained quality to it that I really like — it's not trying too hard. The acidity is spot on and it keeps you coming back for another sip. Dangerously drinkable at 12.5%.
Solid Grand Cru
The guy at my local wine shop pushed me toward this over the usual Moët and I'm glad he did. Much more interesting — there's real depth to it and the finish just keeps going. Clean and crisp without being sharp. Will definitely buy again for special occasions.
Birthday treat that delivered
Got this for my 40th and honestly it was the highlight of the night. Really elegant bubbles, not aggressive at all, and there's this lovely layered thing going on when you drink it — keeps revealing more. At nearly fifty quid it's not an everyday buy but for a celebration it's absolutely worth it.
Good but not sure about the price
Nice champagne, don't get me wrong. It's balanced and smells gorgeous straight out of the bottle. But at £49 I kept comparing it to other things I could get for that money and I think there's stiff competition around that price point. Would happily drink it again if someone else was buying.
Perfect for our dinner party
Brought this to a friend's dinner party and it went down really well with everyone. Not too heavy, not too sweet, just really well put together. A couple of guests who know way more about wine than me were impressed, which felt like a win.
