Regi Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Champagne
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV RegiGood but not sure it's £70 good
Picked this up for New Year's Eve. It's nice, don't get me wrong — smells lovely straight out of the bottle and tastes clean and fresh. But at this price I was expecting to be blown away and it was more like quietly impressed. Bit pricey for what it is if I'm honest.
Birthday treat that delivered
Got this for my 40th and honestly it was the highlight of the night. Really crisp and clean with proper depth to it — not just fizz and nothing else like some champagnes. At nearly seventy quid it's not an everyday buy but for a special occasion it's worth every penny.
Solid grand cru without the silly price tag
The wine shop guy steered me toward this when I said I wanted something a step up from Moët but didn't want to remortgage. Really well balanced — bright acidity but enough richness that it doesn't feel thin. The finish lingers nicely too. Would definitely buy again for a dinner party.
This is what champagne should taste like
I'm not a massive champagne person usually but this one converted me a bit. Saw it on a restaurant menu and figured why not. There's actual complexity to it, layers of flavour that keep unfolding rather than just being sharp bubbles. At 12.5% it's easy drinking too. Already ordered a couple of bottles for home.
Goes down dangerously easy
Had this at a friend's place and immediately asked where she got it. For a blanc de blancs it's really approachable — you don't need to know anything about wine to enjoy it. The acidity keeps it refreshing and we finished the bottle before the starter was even cleared. Dangerous stuff.
