Recoleta Criolla Rosado Mauricio Lorca 2021
Rosé 12% ABV ABV LorcaPunches above its weight
The wine shop guy recommended this when I said I wanted a rosé that actually tastes of something. He wasn't wrong — there's genuine depth here and it smells really lovely, kind of floral and fruity without being sickly. At 12% it's not too boozy either which is a plus for a Sunday afternoon. Nice find.
Good midweek wine
Bought this for a dinner party and it did the job nicely. It's clean and easy drinking with a decent finish that doesn't just disappear immediately. Not the most exciting rosé I've ever had but it's honest wine and everyone seemed to enjoy it. The Argentine thing is a nice talking point too.
Fine but not amazing
It's alright. Nice enough to drink and the acidity keeps it fresh, but at £12.50 I reckon you can find something with a bit more going on. My partner liked it more than I did tbf. Wouldn't turn it down if someone poured me a glass but I probably won't seek it out again.
Solid summer pink
Picked this up from Majestic on a whim because I liked the label. Really glad I did — it's got proper fruit flavour and doesn't taste like watered-down strawberry juice like a lot of rosés at this price. Had it with some grilled chicken and salad on the patio and it went down dangerously easy. Would definitely buy again.
