Recaredo Brut Nature Terrers Gran Reserva 2020: A Toast-Worthy Cuvee
Champagne 11.5% ABV ABV RecaredoWow this is classy
Had this at a friend's house and immediately asked what it was. The Xarel-lo grape gives it this amazing nutty, toasty character and at 11.5% you can have a couple of glasses without it going to your head. Went brilliantly with some tapas we were sharing. Already ordered a couple of bottles for myself.
Solid Spanish fizz
Got recommended this by the guy at my local wine shop when I said I wanted something bubbly but not Prosecco. It's really nice — kind of baked apple and honey flavours with a clean finish. At £35 it's not cheap for a Cava-style wine but the quality is there. Good but not sure I'd rebuy at that price when there's decent Crémant around for less.
Nice but a bit subtle for me
Bought this for a dinner party and honestly I think most of my friends would have been just as happy with something half the price. It's well made and I got the brioche and lemon thing, but it's quite delicate and understated. If you're into that refined style you'll love it, just wasn't really my vibe.
Perfect for our anniversary dinner
Picked this up for our wedding anniversary and it was a hit. Really lovely toasty, bready thing going on with some almond notes that made it feel properly special. The bubbles are super fine and elegant — way nicer than most stuff at this price. Would definitely buy again for a celebration.
