Rathfinny Estate Mini Cuvee 2021: Sparkling with Purpose
Sparkling 11.5% ABV ABV RathfinnyReally impressed with this
Bought a couple of bottles for a dinner party and everyone kept asking what it was. Lovely fresh bubbles, not too aggressive, and that hint of toast underneath is really nice. At under £24 it's genuinely good value for English sparkling. Will definitely be buying more.
Bit pricey for what it is
It's fine — clean, crisp, does the job. But I kept thinking I'd rather have just spent a few quid more on a proper champagne or saved money with a cava. Nothing wrong with it, just didn't wow me enough at that price point.
Solid everyday fizz
The wine shop guy recommended this as a good English alternative to prosecco and he wasn't wrong. Crisp green apple flavour, nice fine bubbles. Not going to blow your mind but it's clean and refreshing and I'd happily have it again.
Nice but not amazing
It's decent enough — light and citrusy with a clean finish. But at nearly £24 I think you can get more interesting bottles for the money. The bubbles are lovely and delicate though, I'll give it that.
Good for the price
Got this as a birthday present and was pleasantly surprised. There's a toasty thing going on underneath the fruit that makes it feel a bit more grown up than your average fizz. Pinot Noir blend so it's got a bit of substance to it. Would buy it myself.
Great little find
Picked this up after seeing Rathfinny mentioned somewhere online. Really zesty lime and pear on the nose, proper refreshing. Had it with some fish and chips on a Friday night and it was perfect. The 11.5% ABV is handy too — you can have a couple of glasses without writing off the evening.
Perfect for summer
Saw this on a menu at a restaurant and ordered a bottle to try at home. Really fresh and limey, the bubbles are super fine and it goes down dangerously easy. Not the most complex wine I've ever had but sometimes that's exactly what you want.
