Quinta da Pedra Milagres Alvarinho 2021
Red 14% ABV ABV Quinta da PedraGreat dinner party bottle
Bought this for a dinner party and it went down really well. Smells gorgeous straight out of the bottle and it's got enough going on to keep you interested. 14% so it packs a punch — we got through two bottles between four of us and nobody complained.
Really impressed with this one
Picked this up from a wine shop in town after the guy behind the counter recommended it. Really aromatic when you pour it, loads of fruit on the nose. Full bodied and interesting — kept finding new things with every sip. Would definitely buy again.
Expected more honestly
Maybe I caught a bad bottle or something but this didn't blow me away the way I hoped. It's fine — smells nice and the finish is clean — but for north of £20 I wanted a bit more wow factor. My mate who's more into wine than me said it needed another hour to open up, so maybe I was too impatient.
Lovely find from Portugal
My partner and I have been trying more Portuguese wines lately and this Quinta da Pedra is one of our favourites so far. Big and fruity but not jammy, if that makes sense? The finish lingers in a really nice way that keeps you going back for more. Had it with a slow-cooked lamb shoulder and it was spot on.
Nice but a bit steep
It's a solid wine, well made and everything, but £23 feels like a lot for a Portuguese red I'd never heard of. The acidity is nice and it's got some proper structure to it, but I reckon you can find similar quality for less. Would drink it again if someone else was buying.
Decent weekend wine
Saw this on a list at a restaurant, liked it enough to track down a bottle for home. It's aromatic and well balanced with good acidity cutting through the ripe fruit. Not life-changing but genuinely enjoyable and I'd happily have it again on a Friday night with some cheese.
