Reliable Pol Roger quality

Had this at a restaurant once and tracked down the half bottle to have at home. It's got that bright, aromatic thing going on from the first pour which I really like. Acidity and fruit are well balanced. Not going to blow your mind but it's a very well-made champagne that does exactly what you want it to do.

Absolutely loved this

Saw Pol Roger on the shelf and grabbed it because apparently it was Churchill's favourite champagne. The layers of flavour genuinely surprised me — kept noticing new things as I sipped. At 12.5% it's not too boozy either so I didn't feel rough the next morning. Already bought another one for Easter.

Lovely little bottle

Bought two of these for a dinner party — one for the starter, one for pudding. Everyone commented on how good it was. There's a real structure to it that you don't always get with NV champagne, and the finish is clean without being boring. The half bottle size is genius for when you want variety on the table.

Good but not amazing

The wine shop guy recommended this when I said I wanted something special but didn't need a full bottle. It's fine, perfectly drinkable champagne with some nice fruit flavours. Honestly though I'm not sure I can tell the difference between this and a £20 prosecco after the first glass. Maybe my palate isn't sophisticated enough.

Perfect half bottle for a Tuesday treat

Picked this up because sometimes you want champagne but a full bottle is too much commitment on a weeknight. Really impressed — it's got proper depth to it, not just fizz and nothing else. The bubbles are fine and the flavour keeps going after you swallow. At thirty quid for a half bottle it's not cheap, but Pol Roger never disappoints.

Solid champagne, bit steep for a half

Got this for my wife's birthday as a starter before we went out. It's nice — clean, balanced, decent complexity for a non-vintage. But nearly £30 for a half bottle is a hard sell when you can get a full bottle of something else for similar money. Would buy again if it was on offer.
