Pol Roger Reserve NV Champagne / Gift Box
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV Pol RogerStole the show at our dinner party
Served this as an aperitif at a dinner party and every single person commented on it. It's really expressive on the nose, you can tell it's quality the second you pour it. Light enough at 12.5% that nobody was falling asleep before the main course either. Will be stocking up.
Good but bit pricey
Decent champagne, don't get me wrong. Smells great and drinks smoothly. But pushing £48 for a non-vintage? I've had Proseccos at half the price that I've enjoyed just as much on a Friday night. One for special occasions only.
Nice but not blown away
Had this at a friend's house and thought it was pleasant enough. Clean, balanced, easy to drink. I just expected a bit more wow factor at this price point to be honest. It's reliable and well-made but didn't make me go out and buy a bottle myself.
Solid champagne, nice gift box
The gift box is a nice touch if you're giving it to someone. The champagne itself is properly good — well balanced, not too dry, not too sweet, with a clean finish that keeps you going back for more. Would buy again for Christmas or anniversaries.
Perfect birthday bubbles
Bought this as a birthday present for my wife and we ended up drinking it together that evening. Really lovely stuff — the bubbles are fine and elegant, and it's got this nice biscuity depth to it without being heavy. At £48 it's not cheap but honestly felt worth it for a special occasion.
Wine shop recommendation came through
The guy at my local wine shop pointed me to this when I said I wanted something a step up from supermarket fizz. He wasn't wrong — it's noticeably more complex, proper depth to it, and the finish lingers in a really pleasant way. Definitely a cut above.
My go-to for celebrations now
Third time buying Pol Roger and it never lets me down. There's a lovely balance between the fruit and acidity, and it doesn't leave that harsh dry feeling some champagnes give you. Cracked this one open on New Year's Eve with some smoked salmon and it was bang on.
