Pol Roger Brut Vintage 2018 Champagne / Gift Box
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV Pol RogerClassy dinner party pick
Brought this to a dinner party and it went down really well. Lovely balance to it, not too acidic, not too sweet, just right. Everyone commented on how smooth it was. Would buy again but probably only for occasions at that price point.
Good not great
Saw Pol Roger on a menu at a restaurant and liked it so bought a bottle from the shop. It's nice, good acid balance and decent depth to it. I just expected a bit more wow factor for over £80. My partner loved it though so maybe it's just me being fussy.
Best Champagne I've had in ages
The wine shop guy recommended Pol Roger and I'm so glad I listened. This is seriously good — the complexity just builds as you drink it. Clean finish that makes you want another glass immediately. Already bought a second bottle.
Birthday treat that delivered
Got this as a birthday present to myself and wow, glad I did. Really expressive on the nose straight away, kept getting new things as I sipped. The finish just goes on and on without being heavy. At £82.50 it's not cheap but for a special occasion Champagne it's absolutely worth it.
Perfect for New Year's
Picked this up for New Year's Eve and it was the highlight of the night honestly. Really layered — kept noticing new things in the glass as it opened up. At 12.5% it's easy drinking too, didn't feel heavy at all. Will definitely be getting this again next December.
Solid but bit pricey for what it is
Nice Champagne, don't get me wrong. Well structured and the finish is clean and long. But at £82.50 I've had bottles at £50-60 that come close. The gift box is a nice touch though if you're giving it to someone.
