Pinot Gris Rockburn 2023
Red 14% ABV ABV RockburnAbsolutely loved this
I'm still pretty new to wine but this Rockburn Pinot Gris is probably the best red I've had this year. So smooth and the finish goes on forever in the best way. My partner said it smelled amazing too. Treating ourselves to another bottle this weekend.
Loved this with lamb
Had this with a slow-cooked lamb shoulder and it was perfect. There's a real depth in the middle that keeps you interested. The acidity cuts through rich food brilliantly. Already ordered another bottle.
Good but a bit pricey for what it is
It's pleasant enough and well made, I can tell there's quality there. But honestly for nearly £25 I expected a bit more punch. The flavours are quite restrained — if you like subtlety you'll enjoy it more than I did.
Solid wine for a dinner party
Brought this to a friend's birthday dinner and it went down well with everyone. Nice balance to it, not too fruity not too dry. At £24 it's not an everyday bottle but it feels worth it for an occasion.
Clean and easy to drink
Saw this on a restaurant menu and decided to try it. Really well put together, everything feels deliberate if that makes sense? Not the most exciting wine I've ever had but genuinely enjoyable. The 14% ABV sneaks up on you though!
Really nice find
Picked this up after the guy at the wine shop recommended it. Really clean and fresh, not heavy at all which surprised me for a red. The finish just lingers nicely without being too much. Would definitely buy again at this price.
