Pierre Moncuit Delos Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Champagne
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV Pierre MoncuitBirthday treat that delivered
Bought this for my wife's 40th and we were both blown away. Really crisp and fresh with proper depth to it — not just fizz and nothing else like some cheaper champagnes. The bubbles are fine and it keeps giving you more the longer you sip it. At £47 it's not an everyday buy but for a celebration it's absolutely worth it.
Nice but maybe a touch overpriced
Had this at a friend's house and thought it was good but not sure I'd pay £47 for it myself. It's well made and has a nice crisp finish that lingers, but at that price point I'd want something that really knocks my socks off. That said I did keep going back for refills so maybe it's better than I'm giving it credit for.
Solid blanc de blancs
The guy at my local wine shop pointed me towards this when I said I wanted something a step up from supermarket champagne. He wasn't wrong — it's clean, bright, and has this lovely precision to it that I really enjoyed. Good acidity that keeps everything lively. Would definitely buy again for a dinner party.
This is what champagne should taste like
I've been getting more into wine recently and a friend who knows way more than me recommended Pierre Moncuit. The finish on this just goes on and on in a really satisfying way. It's 100% chardonnay which apparently is what blanc de blancs means (you learn something new every day). Felt like proper luxury without being pretentious about it.
Goes down dangerously easy
Picked this up for New Year's Eve and honestly it was gone before midnight. Really balanced — not too sweet, not too sharp, just proper champagne that tastes like it should. There's a sort of layered thing going on where you keep noticing different flavours. My partner who normally sticks to prosecco said this was on another level.
