Jorge Castillo VIPsAllowed - Good but maybe not £53 good
7/10

Nice champagne, don't get me wrong. Clean, precise, drinks well. But at this price I'd want it to blow my mind and it didn't quite get there for me. I've had cheaper fizz that I enjoyed just as much on a Friday night.

Opened this at a dinner party and everyone commented on it. It's got this lovely expressiveness on the nose that hits you straight away. Went brilliantly with the fish course and the cheese that came after. One of those bottles where you keep going back for another sip.

Ruth Banks VIPsAllowed - Decent, expected more drama
7/10

Saw this on a restaurant wine list and ordered a bottle. It's well made and everything is in the right place — good acidity, nice fruit, clean finish. Just felt like it played it safe. At 12.5% it's easy drinking but I wanted a bit more wow factor for a Grand Cru.

Priya Sharma VIPsAllowed - Perfect for Christmas morning
8/10

Picked this up for Christmas Day and it was spot on. Blanc de blancs so it's all about that crisp chardonnay character. Really aromatic when you pour it, draws you right in. The richness from the extra dry dosage gives it enough body that it works on its own without food too.

Kwame Mensah VIPsAllowed - This is what champagne should taste like
9/10

I'm still fairly new to caring about what I drink but even I could tell this was a cut above. It's complex without being complicated if that makes sense? The finish just lingers really nicely. Shared it with my partner and we were both genuinely impressed.

Nia Okafor VIPsAllowed - Solid champagne, not just bubbles
8/10

The wine shop guy recommended this when I said I wanted something a step up from Moët. He wasn't wrong — there's actual depth here, proper fruit and a bright acidity that keeps it fresh. Extra dry style but doesn't taste sweet at all, really well balanced.

Zoe Chen VIPsAllowed - Birthday treat that delivered
9/10

Bought this for my 40th and it was genuinely special. Really clean and crisp with layers of flavour that kept revealing themselves. At £53 it's not cheap but for a Grand Cru blanc de blancs it's honestly fair enough. Would absolutely buy again for a big occasion.
