The guy at my local recommended this when I said I wanted something a bit different from the usual Moët. Really well balanced, good fruit without being sweet, and a clean finish that keeps you going back. At £53 it's not cheap but it's proper Champagne, not supermarket stuff.

Don't get me wrong, this is a good Champagne. Smells great out of the bottle and it's got a nice depth to it. But for fifty-odd quid I was expecting to be blown away and I wasn't quite there. I'd probably go for something a bit cheaper day to day.

Picked this up for New Year's Eve and it went down a storm. Really expressive nose, you can tell there's proper craft behind it. Everyone commented on it, even the people who normally just drink prosecco.

Bought this for my wife's birthday and we were both really impressed. Lovely bubbles, proper depth to it, not just fizzy and sharp like a lot of Champagne can be. We finished the bottle before the starters were done. Would absolutely buy again.

I'd read good things about Pierre Gerbais so had high expectations. It's nicely balanced and the finish lingers which is good, but I've had grower Champagnes at this price that excited me more. Perfectly solid though, just didn't quite grab me.

Saw this on a restaurant wine list a few months back and tracked it down online. Really well structured, proper acidity without being tart, and it works brilliantly with food — we had it with some cheese and charcuterie and it was spot on. The kind of bottle that makes you look like you know what you're doing.

Mei-Lin Wu - This stuff is dangerously drinkable

Had this at a friend's dinner party and immediately asked where she got it. There's a complexity to it that sneaks up on you — starts off bright and fruity then gets more interesting as you drink. Ordered two bottles the next day.
