Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut Champagne / Half Bottle
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV Perrier-JouëtGood but pricey for what you get
It's a nice Champagne, don't get me wrong — clean finish, fine bubbles, well made. But £31 for a half bottle is a lot when you could get a full bottle of decent Crémant for less. I'd buy it again if it was on offer but probably not at full price.
The flowers on the bottle aren't just for show
My wife loves the Perrier-Jouët bottles so I picked this up as a little surprise. Actually really impressed — there's a floral thing going on that's quite elegant and it's got more depth than I expected from their basic range. The acidity keeps it really refreshing too. Would definitely get it again for a special occasion.
Lovely little half bottle
Grabbed this half bottle for a Tuesday night treat because why not. Really floral and fresh, with nice bubbles that don't go flat after ten minutes like cheaper stuff. At £31 for a half it's not cheap but it genuinely tastes like proper Champagne, not just fizzy wine.
Nice with seafood
Had this with oysters at home and it was a great match. Dry and balanced with enough fizz to keep things interesting. I'm still learning about Champagne but this felt like a step up from the usual supermarket brands. Half bottle is actually perfect for two people splitting a starter.
Solid choice for a dinner party
Brought two of these to a friend's birthday dinner and they went down really well. Nice and crisp with white fruit flavours and a bit of something chalky underneath. Not the most exciting Champagne I've ever had but reliable and easy to drink.
