Rosa Paredes VIPsAllowed - Absolute stunner

The wine shop recommended this when I said I wanted something special for Christmas and wow. So smooth and well balanced, proper orchard fruit flavours with a clean finish that just keeps going. The magnum format is perfect for a group and it stayed brilliant right to the last glass. Best champagne I've had in ages.

Bought the magnum for my wife's 40th and it was a huge hit. Really crisp and fresh with lovely peachy fruit, and the bubbles are so fine and elegant. At £167 for a magnum it's not cheap but honestly felt worth it for a special occasion. Everyone kept going back for more.

Picked this up for New Year's and it's a solid champagne — nice acidity, fine bubbles, bit of mineral character on the finish. My only gripe is £167 is a lot of money and I'm not sure it's twice as good as an £80 bottle. That said I'd happily drink it again if someone else was buying.

Herbert Muller VIPsAllowed - Classy Blanc de Blancs
8/10

Had this at a friend's dinner party and immediately wanted to track it down. It's got this lovely citrusy, almost flinty thing going on that I really enjoy in Blanc de Blancs champagnes. Definitely a step up from your usual prosecco or even entry-level champagne. Would buy again but probably stick to the regular bottle size for the price.
