Pegasus Bay Pinot Noir 2021
Red 14% ABV ABV Pegasus BayReally impressed with this one
Bought this for my wife's birthday dinner and it went down a treat. Really smooth with a nice warmth to it, and the smell once it opened up was gorgeous — proper cherry and earthy stuff. At nearly forty quid it's not an everyday bottle but for a special occasion it's spot on.
Lovely with lamb
Picked this up after seeing it on a list somewhere online. Took about twenty minutes to really open up but once it did the aromas were amazing. Paired it with some lamb chops and it was a great match. Not the kind of wine that lingers forever on the finish but honestly that just made me want to keep drinking it.
Good but not cheap
Had this at a friend's house and thought it was solid. Nice balance, not too heavy despite being 14%, and it kept getting better as we drank it. Would I pay £39 for it myself though? Probably not when there are decent Pinots for half that. Still, no complaints.
New Zealand does it again
The guy at my local wine shop recommended this and I'm glad he did. It's got loads going on — fruit, a bit of spice, and it finishes really cleanly. Sat with it over a slow Sunday roast and it was perfect. Will definitely be getting another bottle.
