Paringa Estate Peninsula Chardonnay 2024: Citrus-Driven Elegance
White 13% ABV ABV Paringa EstatePerfect summer wine
The guy at my local wine shop recommended this and he was spot on. It's got this gorgeous zesty thing going on, really clean and bright. Had it with fish tacos on Saturday night and it was brilliant.
Pleasant but didn't blow me away
Had this at a friend's house. It's fine — clean, lemony, does the job. I think I prefer my chardonnays with a bit more body to them though. The chalky dry finish wasn't really my thing but I can see why others would like it.
Solid everyday chardonnay
Nice clean chardonnay, lots of citrus and a bit of peach coming through. I'd say it's fair value at £26 but wouldn't want to pay much more. Good with chicken or just on its own in the garden.
Absolutely loved this
Picked this up after seeing Paringa Estate mentioned somewhere online and wow. The finish just goes on and on, really mineral and fresh. At 13% it doesn't feel heavy at all. One of my favourite whites this year honestly.
Good gift choice
Got this as a birthday present for my mum who loves white wine. She said it was lovely — very citrusy with some peach notes. The bottle looks nice too which always helps when you're giving it as a gift. She rated it highly so that's good enough for me.
Nice but a bit pricey
It's a decent white, crisp and refreshing with good lemon flavours. But £26 for a chardonnay with no oak? I've had similar quality for less. Would probably buy again on offer though.
Changed my mind about chardonnay
I normally steer well clear of chardonnay because I don't like that buttery oak taste, but this is completely different. All fresh citrus and green apple, really crisp. Will definitely look out for more unoaked styles now.
Really impressed with this one
Bought this for a dinner party and it went down a treat. Super lemony and fresh, not one of those heavy oaky chardonnays that I usually avoid. Everyone kept topping up their glass which says it all really.
