First Impressions

Palmer & Co Brut Reserve NV Champagne arrives at £46.95, and at this price, it needs to offer genuine quality to stand out in a crowded market. 75cl / 12% - Palmer & Co was established in 1947 by seven families who were originally growers with vineyards in Premier and Grand Cru vineyards in the Montagne de Reims. This.

France's winemaking heritage needs no introduction, but the best producers continue to find new ways to express their terroir while honouring centuries of tradition. Palmer & Co is a name worth knowing in this context.

On the Nose and Palate

The nose offers delicate nose of white peach, fresh bread, and a hint of chalk and lemon curd. Moving to the palate, the wine is generous and complex, showing stone fruit, pastry cream, and a lovely toasty richness with vibrant acidity. The finish is long and elegant close with brioche, lemon curd, and a persistent chalky freshness.

Food Pairing and Serving

Equally at home as an aperitif or alongside seafood, sushi, or delicate canapés. Serve at 8-10°C in proper flutes or, better yet, white wine glasses to appreciate the full bouquet.

The Verdict

Palmer & Co Brut Reserve NV Champagne earns a well-deserved 7 out of 10. This is a very good champagne that delivers Chardonnay with genuine conviction and craft. At £46.95, this represents excellent value for money. Whether you are building a cellar or simply looking for something excellent to drink tonight, this bottle earns its place.

Freya Lindqvist VIPsAllowed - Bit pricey for what it is
6/10

The wine shop guy recommended this and it's fine, perfectly nice champagne. But pushing £47 for a non-vintage? I've had Crémants at half the price that I enjoyed just as much. The lemony finish is nice though.

8/10

Tip: don't rush this one. First couple of sips were nice enough but after 10 minutes in the glass it really opened up — lemon curd, fresh bread, nectarine. The finish goes on forever. Really impressed for a NV champagne.

Bought this for NYE and it was a massive hit. Really creamy with a lovely bready thing going on, and the bubbles are super fine. At £47 it's not cheap but honestly felt worth it for a celebration.

Amira Benali VIPsAllowed - Good intro to proper champagne
7/10

I'm still learning about wine but I'm trying to move beyond prosecco. This felt like a proper step up — much more complex with bread and stone fruit flavours. The acidity keeps it fresh and easy to drink. Will definitely explore more champagne now.

Had this on a restaurant menu and liked it enough to track down a bottle. It's a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier and you can tell there's some complexity going on. Nice peachy nose, creamy palate. Not life-changing but I'd happily order it again.

Petra Novak VIPsAllowed - Solid champagne, nothing flashy

Good honest champagne. You get that classic toasty flavour with some nice fruit — I got peach and something like nectarine. It's well made but I wouldn't say it blew my mind for the price.

Valentina Ricci VIPsAllowed - Perfect dinner party champagne
8/10

Served this at a dinner party and got loads of compliments. It's got this gorgeous bready, almost pastry-like quality and a really long finish. Three of my friends asked me where I got it. Goes brilliantly with nibbles and starters.

Picked this up for my wife's birthday and wow. The balance between the fruity and toasty bits is just spot on, and there's this chalky dryness at the end that keeps you going back for another sip. One of the best champagnes I've had under £50.
