First Impressions

Palmer & Co Blanc de Blancs Champagne arrives at £62.25, positioning it in the mid-to-premium bracket where quality must shine. 75cl / 12% - Palmer was established in 1947 by seven families who were orignially growers with vineyards in Premier and Grand Cru vineyards in the Montagne de Reims. They are.

France's winemaking heritage needs no introduction, but the best producers continue to find new ways to express their terroir while honouring centuries of tradition. Palmer & Co is a name worth knowing in this context.

On the Nose and Palate

The nose offers fine and persistent mousse releasing aromas of brioche, toasted almond, and citrus blossom. Moving to the palate, the wine is rich and layered, offering baked apple, hazelnut, and a creamy mousse with a dry mineral core. The finish is lingering and refined, with a final note of almond, citrus, and a dry mineral finish.

Food Pairing and Serving

Equally at home as an aperitif or alongside seafood, sushi, or delicate canapés. Serve at 8-10°C in proper flutes or, better yet, white wine glasses to appreciate the full bouquet.

The Verdict

Palmer & Co Blanc de Blancs Champagne earns a well-deserved 8 out of 10. This is an outstanding champagne that delivers Chardonnay with genuine conviction and craft. At £62.25, the quality-to-price ratio here is genuinely impressive. Whether you are building a cellar or simply looking for something excellent to drink tonight, this bottle earns its place.

Bought this for my wife's 40th and we both loved it. Really creamy with those toasty, bready notes — almost like fresh croissants in a glass. At £62 it's not cheap but for a special occasion Champagne it felt worth every penny.

Tried this at a friend's house and thought it was lovely — very smooth with a nutty, almondy thing going on. Went and looked it up afterwards though and £62 is a lot when you can get solid Champagne for £40. Would drink it again happily but probably wouldn't buy it myself.

We cracked this open on New Year's Eve and it was a hit. Brioche and citrus on the nose, dry but not austere, and the finish just goes on and on. Third time we've bought Palmer & Co now and they haven't let us down yet.

Asked for a Blanc de Blancs recommendation and this is what they pulled out. Gorgeous bubbles, really fine and delicate, and I got loads of apple and hazelnut on the palate. It's 100% Chardonnay which apparently makes it lighter and more elegant — I can see that. Had it with some smoked salmon starters and it was a perfect match.
