Oenops Apla White 2024
White 12% ABV ABV OenopsGood but not sure about the price
It's a pleasant enough wine — clean, easy drinking, decent finish. But £17 feels a bit steep when I can get something similar for a tenner. If it was closer to £12-13 I'd rate it higher.
Greek wines are so underrated
The guy in my local recommended this and honestly it's brilliant. Really expressive nose, you can smell it as soon as you pour. It opens up loads after 10 minutes and just keeps getting better. Greek whites are having a moment and this is a great example of why.
Nice for a dinner party
Bought a couple of bottles for a dinner party and everyone commented on it. Light and refreshing but not boring — there's genuine complexity there if you pay attention. The low ABV was a bonus since we were on our third bottle by dessert.
Clean and easy drinking
I'm still fairly new to wine beyond supermarket stuff but this was really nice. Smells great straight away and tastes clean and fresh. My partner said it reminded her of something we had on holiday in Greece which makes sense. Would buy again for a weekend treat.
Absolutely loved this
Saw this on a restaurant menu and ordered a glass on a whim. Ended up buying a bottle to take home. The finish just lingers in the best way and the acidity is perfect — bright without being sharp. One of my favourite whites this year honestly.
Really nice find
Picked this up from a local wine shop on a whim and really glad I did. Super fresh and crisp with loads of flavour for the price. At 12% it's light enough to drink a couple of glasses without feeling it too much. Will definitely be buying again.
Solid weeknight white
Had this with some grilled chicken and it was spot on. Nice acidity that cuts through food well, and it's got more going on than your average sub-£20 white. Not the most exciting wine I've ever had but it does exactly what you want it to.
