Normanno Ciello Rosso 2024
Red 14% ABV ABV NormannoSolid weeknight red
Grabbed this from the wine shop on a whim because the label caught my eye. Really nice nose on it actually — proper fruity and inviting, not just generic red wine smell. At £10.75 it's a good deal, drinks like something a bit more expensive. Goes down easy with pasta or just on its own.
Nice for the price
Bought a couple of these for a dinner party and they went down well. Good structure to it and I liked how the flavours sort of opened up the more you drank. At 14% it's got a bit of punch to it so worth having some food alongside. Would probably buy again if I spotted it.
Fine but nothing special
Had this at a friend's house and it was alright. Decent enough acidity and the fruit was there but I wouldn't rush out to buy a bottle myself. For that price range I think there are better options from Spain or Portugal. Not bad though, just not memorable.
Great with pizza night
The guy at my local wine shop recommended this and fair play to him, it's a really enjoyable red. Lovely clean finish and the acidity cuts through rich food brilliantly — we had it with homemade pizza and it was perfect. Under £11 as well which is a bonus.
Bit disappointed honestly
Saw some good things about Normanno wines online so picked this up expecting a lot. It's fine — smells nice and it's balanced enough — but at 14% ABV I wanted a bit more body and richness than I got. Finish is clean but maybe too quick for me. Might try their other bottles before writing them off completely.
