Niepoort White Rabbit Dry White Port
Fortified 20% ABV ABV NiepoortPerfect chilled on a warm evening
Had this at a restaurant last summer and immediately tracked down a bottle. The acidity keeps it really fresh and it's got layers to it that keep you coming back. Served it ice cold with some salted almonds and olives — absolute winner.
Expected more for the price
It's fine. Pleasant enough and smells nice but for nearly £23 I was hoping for something more memorable. The finish is clean but a bit too subtle for my taste. I'd rather spend the money on a good sherry honestly.
Good conversation starter
Bought this for a birthday gathering because nobody had tried dry white port before. It went down well — aromatic and clean with a nice lingering finish. Not cheap at £23 but it's Niepoort so you're getting quality.
Bit much for me
Got this as part of a fortified wine tasting with friends. It's well made and everything but at 20% ABV I found it a bit heavy for a white wine, even a fortified one. Decent flavour though, just not really my thing.
Nice but niche
The wine shop guy recommended this when I said I wanted something unusual for an aperitif. It's dry and interesting with good depth, not sweet like I expected from port. Not sure I'd buy it regularly but glad I tried it.
Niepoort nailed it
I'm a big fan of Niepoort's regular ports so grabbed the White Rabbit to try. Love how the alcohol just blends right in — you genuinely forget it's 20%. Really well structured with proper complexity. Already ordered another bottle.
Really surprised by this
Picked this up because I'd never tried a white port before and honestly it's great. Super balanced, doesn't taste like 20% at all which is dangerous. At £23 it's a solid buy for something a bit different to bring to a dinner party.
