Jorge Castillo VIPsAllowed - Niepoort does it again
8/10

I'm a big fan of Niepoort's ports so wanted to try their still wines. This didn't disappoint — confident fruit, great structure, everything just works together. Had it with a slow-cooked lamb shoulder and it was perfect. Already ordered another couple of bottles.

Devon Marsh VIPsAllowed - Great bottle for a special dinner
8/10

Bought this for my wife's birthday dinner and it went down really well. Lovely fruit on the nose, and it just kept opening up over the evening. At £38.50 it's not an everyday wine but felt worth it for the occasion. We finished the bottle pretty quickly which says it all really.

Maxwell Green VIPsAllowed - Good but slightly overpriced
7/10

Tried this at a restaurant and liked it enough to track down a bottle. It's well made for sure — smooth, balanced, nice depth to it. But at nearly £40 I think you can find similar quality for less. That said the finish is lovely and lingers in a really pleasant way.

Derek Chang VIPsAllowed - Really impressed with this one
9/10

Picked this up after the guy at my local wine shop recommended it. Honestly wasn't expecting much from a Portuguese red I'd never heard of but wow — really layered and complex without being heavy. The 14% doesn't hit you at all which is impressive. Would absolutely buy again.
